Help Celebrate and Implement KSQD's Dream
KSQD had a rare opportunity to expand its service to more Central Coast residents by purchasing 89.7 FM and 89.5 FM. KSQD's signal has improved in the already covered areas, tripled the potential audience to 645,000, and added Watsonville, Aptos, and locations in Monterey County.
Now it is time to offer everyone the opportunity to get involved. We are looking forward to broaden our programming with input from people in the larger listening area. Some of the projects we are working on are:
* more guests from the larger listening area;
* establishing remote access for Monterey County programmers;
* establishing a recording space in the Watsonville area for interviews and programming.
KSQD broadcasts community-centered news, public affairs, and music programs serving local needs. The station is volunteer-driven — by, for and about local people and topics. Please help us preserve local journalism in the Central Coast.
"Whenever two or three talented people have a dream and then have the smarts and stick-to-it-ive-ness to make it a reality, you've got to support them when they see an opportunity to grow the reality in a sensible, solid way. That's the story of the founders and their KSQD dream, and it's why we supported their latest expansion plans." Rowland and Pat Rebele, Santa Cruz
